What is the difference between a designated service station and a factory service station?
*There are two types of repair shops that perform vehicle inspections and overhauls, designated service station and factory service station. Regular maintenance is the same for both, but the methods of vehicle inspection are different. Both shops have a plate displayed in a visible place, so be sure to check it out.
*Designated service station, also known as "private vehicle inspection centers," have their own vehicle inspection lines and perform vehicle inspections on-site. Because they have inspection lines. Once the inspection is complete, you can simply bring in the necessary documents to have a vehicle inspection certificate issued. Therefore, vehicle inspections are often completed in one day, and some can be completed in as little as 60 minutes. For customers having their vehicle inspected, there is no significant difference between a "designated service station" and a "factory service station."The size of a vehicle inspection and repair shop does not necessarily translate into difference in skill or price.
*Each facility has the same conditions, such as having the necessary disassembly and maintenance equipment and tools, and having a designated mechanic, so just because they are factory mechanic does not mean that the quality of maintenance and inspection is low.
*There are over 1000's of repair shops nationwide, of which about 50% are designated service station. Designated service station are required to have stricter standards you can see the service done to vehicles directly than factory service station, including the space and equipment required to set up inspection line equipment, and the number of mechanics required. Therefore, the inspection standards tend to be stricter, and many of them perform thorough maintenance to avoid releasing poorly maintained vehicles
*When choosing a vehicle inspection service station, choose one that has trustworthy mechanics and staff who will perform thorough maintenance, in other words, one you can trust to leave your vehicle in their hands.
